Note for cutting thin aluminum sheet metal

When cutting thin aluminum sheet metal, pay attention to the accuracy of the cutting machine’s spindle as high as possible, preferably within 1mm, because the saw blade itself will jump during the cutting process. If the precision of the spindle is high and the material of the saw blade itself is better, it is possible to avoid the saw blade beating more severely and the cutting material will produce larger burrs.


Selection of thin aluminum sheet welding process

Taking thin aluminum sheet 4×8 as an example. To prevent aluminum from oxidizing during welding, it is strictly forbidden to use oxidizing flame. The size of the welding nozzle should be determined according to the thickness of the sheet. Thin aluminum sheet 4×8 are easy to burn through. You can choose a welding nozzle one size smaller than that of mild steel welding. To prevent the aluminum sheet from deforming, tack welding can be used to fix the relative position of the aluminum sheet.


Can thin aluminum sheet be bent?

Whether the aluminum sheet can be bent is first determined by the alloy temper. The temper of the aluminum sheet is divided into full hard (H), semi-hard and soft (O) temper. The full-hard bending effect is basically not good. For example, the temper of the aluminum sheet is h18, h19, h38, etc., which are all full-hard. Semi-hard aluminum sheet can basically be bent, for example, h24 is also semi-hard. In the soft temper, O temper is definitely able to bend, but because it is too soft, basically it is rarely bent in this temper.
