Aluminium alloy 6063 t6
Aluminium alloy 6063 t6 is the most common alloy metal material used for aluminum extrusion. It refers to the state of artificial aging after solution heat treatment. 6063-T6 physical properties
T6 temper 6063 grade has an ultimate tensile strength of at least 190MPa (28,000psi) and a yield strength of at least 160MPa (23,000psi). At a thinner thickness, such as 3.15 mm (0.124 inch) or less, its elongation is 8% or higher; at a thicker thickness, it can reach an elongation of 10%.
Can aluminium alloy 6063 be welded?
6063 is weldable and uses tungsten inert gas welding. Generally, 6063 of O temper is more common but t6 is also possible. After welding, there will be a certain loss of performance strength near the weld. At this time, the material can be heat treated again to restore the higher performance of the entire part.
